Weird Moving Thoughts

Well it's funny some of the things that are annoying about moving. For example, I hate having to try and find new radio stations that I like. I hate having to find new places to eat. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a good chinesee or mexican place? Not as easy at one would think. And as soon as we find a really good one that makes us happy that we go to when ever we are in the mood for good food they move us. We never did find a good place to eat in San Pedro. I hate having to take the long way around everywhere we go because I don't know any of the short cuts yet. It is a pain to get used to the way that new school districts do everything, and trying to adjust to new teacher halfway through the year. I hate those last 3 boxes that never find a home in the new house so they just sit around in the way for months until you just hide them and wind up moving them unopened the next time. I hate trying to get Internet hooked up it is always a bigger pain than it ought to be and this time was ridiculous!

It's funny to go to new wards though and see how the people differ from the last part of the country we were in. How they feel about military families, and if they feel it worth their time to welcome in new people. I have to say this ward seems very ready to welcome everyone, however they don't remember you from one week to the next any better then any other ward we have been in. They do how ever have the fire of missionary work up here. They have had at least 2 baptisms every week so far.

It's it also funny to see how people just out and about act. Up here it seems the thing to do to honk at everybody for anything! And I am just out of LA so that is saying something. And no one up here seems to smile, I attribute that to a lack of sun.

Anyhow, just some random things on my mind today. On the other hand....It is very pretty up here. It's been fun to be close to Robyn and Joe. It's nice to be back to real life(well for us anyhow). Mike in and out in the mornings, gone for training at strange times. Kaylee is liking her school she comes home all the time saying that some one new asked her to play. And we have a yard that we can send the kids out to play in. They love that swing set is up again.

Even with all the pains of moving I'm love the life we have. I thing I would go stir crazy if we stayed in the same place for ever.

LOL, don't we all love moving. We'll be moving this summer and oh how I look forward to all the wonderful things you mentioned. NOT! I just hope the Ward is a lot better than the one I'm in now.

Hey, I say if you only end up with 3 un-opened moving boxes you are doing great! Just hide them right away and get over with :) I know what you mean about the dinning out. 8 months later and we really don't have any special place. Cali is much easier to find paces to eat, there is just much more of a choice. Here, I don't even think we have a Mexican food place and there is only one chain restaurant (Chilis, I think) Well have fun with it all and just know that even though I may be a little ahead of you with the move I am right there with you!!!!
Really though, I wish we were neighbors again!!!

One of the hardest things about moving here to TX was the food thing. UT had so many good choices close to us. It took us 2 years to find decent pizza here. We still haven't found a Chinese place we can agree on. And don't even talk about Mexican food. It's still too painful to admit that Texans just plain suck at making good Mexican food. BBQ, on the other hand, is pretty decent here.
